Important note: Because the clay is porous it is preferable to dedicate the teapot to only one type of tea. The more you use your teapot the better the brewing results. 
 
Before the first use: Just rinse your new teapot with clean boiling water a few times. Let it dry completely and then it is ready for brewing.
 
Maintenance: Do not use any soap or detergents to clean the teapot! Just use clean hot water to rinse it. Use your hands not a dishwasher. After every use it is essential to let your teapot dry out.
